Cylindrical roller bearings are bearings whose cylindrical rollers are in contact in a straight line with the rolling surface. They can withstand very large radial loads and are suitable for high speeds.
There are different types of designs:
+ NU, NJ, NUP, N & NF for single-row drive.
NU-type bearings with ribbed on both sides of the outer ring and no ribbed on the inner ring
NJ type bearings with ribbed on both sides of the inner ring and no ribbed on the outer ring
NF type bearings have veins on both sides of the inner ring and ribs on one side of the outer ring.
NF type bearings have veins on both sides of the inner ring and ribs on one side of the outer ring. Thus, positioning the shaft in one direction can be provided for the crankshaft.
NUP type bearings have ribs on both sides of the outer ring, ribs on one side of the inner ring, and movable ribs on the other side. Therefore, the bearing can be used for bidirectional positioning of the crankshaft.
+ NNU & NN for 2-row drives, depending on design or edge.
NN-type bearings have ribs on the inner ring and no ribs on the outer ring.
NNU type bearings have ribs on the outer ring and no ribs on the inner ring.
The new design of the ribs and roller face makes the E-type bearings more resistant to axial loads. Good contact condition makes the contact area between roller and rib have better hole slip condition and lower operating temperature.
All outer and inner rings are separable.
Some roller bearings do not have burrs on the inner or outer rings so that the rings can move relative to each other in the axial direction. These bearings are often used in the free-drive function. Roller bearings with an inner or outer ring with two ribs and the other with a flange will be capable of supporting axial loads in one direction.
Double row roller bearings have very high radial stiffness and are mainly used for the spindle of precision machine tools.
The cage is usually made of stamped steel or machined bronze. However, sometimes molded polyamide cages are also used.
The international designation of this type of bearing is usually prefixed with N, NU, NJ, NUP, NF, NNU, NN followed by 3 or 4 digits.
